Watch What This Minor League Bat Dog Does When He Approaches The Mound!

Popcorn and crackerjacks may have been replaced by beer and hot dogs, but America’s pastime is still as exciting as ever.

A recent game between the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and the Norfolk Tides left the team from Virginia high and dry after 9 innings, ESPN reports, but one of the best plays happened between the Railriders’ pitcher and a furry teammate who typically sits in the dugout. Bat dog Rookie is trained to retrieve the ball from the mound, as well as bats from home base.
The Railriders, a Triple-A affiliate team of the New York Yankees, are doing fairly well this season, with a total of 28 wins out of their last 39 games.
